The bathroom can be a dangerous place for seniors. Water on the floor can make falls a big concern for all, and getting in and out of the tub or shower can be challenging for the elderly. Getting on and off the toilet is also difficult for many as we age or recuperate from surgery. The Home Safety Council reported that as many as 170,000 emergency room visits by the elderly every year are attributed to falls in the bathroom.
